AmeshX | RWTH Aachen Startup | ~15 hours/week | Potential full-time core team

We are AmeshX, a startup from RWTH Aachen specializing in AI-driven 3D modeling, 3D-printed lighting solutions. Our team brings 9+ years of 3D printing experience and holds MBA and computer science master's degrees from RWTH. We have strong expertise on the technical side, already have physical products and B2B customers. Now, we need your commercial mindset to accelerate our growth!

Your Role

1. Transform customer ideas and descriptions into 3D models using AI 3D modeling tools
2. Modify, optimize and prepare AI-generated 3D models for actual production
3. Test different AI 3D modeling workflows and tools
4. 3D print prototypes and evaluate printability, quality and functionality
5. Identify and solve problems during the process from idea → AI model → 3D model → 3D print → physical prototype
6. Document and communicate the limitations of AI 3D modeling and 3D printing, such as geometry, accuracy, details, materials, support structures and manufacturability

What We’re Looking For

1. Student in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design or a related field
2. Hands-on experience with 3D modeling and/or 3D printing
3. Interest in AI 3D generation and willingness to experiment with new AI tools
4. Basic understanding of CAD, mesh editing or 3D printing workflows
5. Analytical and practical mindset — able to understand why an AI-generated model may look good but still be difficult to print
6. Independent, proactive and willing to experiment, test and learn
